Aganang Local Municipality

Aganang Local Municipality, established in the early 2000s, was situated in the Capricorn District of Limpopo Province, South Africa. The name “Aganang” is derived from Northern Sotho, meaning “uplifting one another,” reflecting the community’s emphasis on mutual support and development. The municipality encompassed approximately 1,881 square kilometers and was predominantly rural, comprising 105 villages divided into 19 wards. Traditional authorities, including Moletsi, Matlala, Maraba, and Mashashane, played significant roles in local governance and cultural preservation.
