Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality

The Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality, situated in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, represents a unique blend of history, culture, and socio-economic dynamics. Formed in 2016 through the amalgamation of three former municipalities—Camdeboo, Ikwezi, and Baviaans—it was named in honor of the anti-apartheid activist and theologian, Dr Beyers Naudé. The municipality encompasses a large geographical area with diverse communities and holds immense potential for development, despite facing various challenges typical of rural South African municipalities.
